Lage
Bad Wiessee is situated on the west bank of Lake Tegernsee on the northern edge of the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. From here, it is only 15 km to Miesbach, 20 km to Holzkirchen, 17 km to Bad Tölz and 70 km to Munich.
By car:
- A 8 motorway from Munich to Salzburg
Take the Holzkirchen exit (if coming from a northerly direction) and turn onto the B 318 in the direction of Tegernsee
Take the Irschenberg exit (if coming from a southerly direction) and turn onto the B 472 in the direction of Tegernsee - A 95 München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Take the Sindelsdorf exit and turn onto the B 472 which will take you to Tegernsee via Bad Tölz - B 307
If coming from Austria, take the Achenpass to Tegernsee
By train:
- The Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) railway runs an hourly service from Gmund and Tegernsee to Munich. From here
- Intercity trains go to destinations all over Germany and Europe. A bus service and taxis are available from Gmund and Tegernsee to take you to Bad Wiessee.
By plane:
- The nearest airport is in Munich, about 1 1/2 hours by car from Tegernsee.
